Brewery Releases ‘Tom Brady’ Beer

Sam Adams is paying tribute to their city’s favorite quarterback. The Boston brewery released a new beer themed after Tom Brady. Sam Adams named the beer, released in time for the Super Bowl, Too Old, Too Slow, Still Here. Brady and his team used this tagline all season as they battled their way to the Super Bowl.

The beer will officially release on Thursday. Right now, it can only be purchased at the Sam Adams tap room in Boston. In addition,  Brady plays in his ninth Super Bowl this upcoming Sunday. The Patriots play against the Los Angeles Rams.

Peter Magowan Dies At 76

Owner of the San Francisco Giants Peter Magowan died on Sunday at 76. Reports say he finally succumbed to his battle with cancer. As a lifelong Giants fan, he led the group that originally purchased the Giants. He led them to much success throughout his tenure. When he bought the Giants in 92, he was instrumental in keeping them in San Francisco.

After retiring following the 2008 season, he put in place the management team that led the club to their first World Series title. In addition, he will be inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame on February 9th. He is survived by his wife Debby, five children and 12 grandchildren.

Utah Jazz Makes A Second Half Comeback

It seems like history is repeating itself. Coming into January 2018, the Utah Jazz were down 9 games under a .500 average. Expectations had certainly soared in Salt Lake City in the span of a year. The Jazz’s slow start last season surprised nobody. Various different factors seemed to seal the Jazz’s fate of heading back to familiar territory of the draft lottery.

However, the team was in the same spot coming into January 2019. With the same roster they ended by just a few games under .500. But when they entered the new year, they won 15 of their last 20 games and 9 of their last 10.

Alex Stalock Signs Three Year Extension

Minnesota Wild’s backup goalie Alex Stalock signed a three year extension contract. The contract is for almost $3M and carries an annual rate of $785,000. Stalock is in his third season with the Wild, with a 2.92 goals-against average and .894 save percentage.

NASCAR Bans Team Members And Drivers From Betting On Races

NASCAR banned all drivers and team members from betting on races. These come as a part of the new gambling guidelines established in this season’s rulebook. However, they are allowed to participate in fantasy sports. They cannot accept any prizes greater than $250
